More than 62,000 cases of COVID-19 detected in the U.S. in 24 hours

The number of detected cases of coronavirus in the United States increased by 62,062 in the past 24 hours, and 741 more patients with confirmed disease have died, according to Johns Hopkins University, which summarizes data from federal and local authorities, as well as media and other public sources.

The total number of COVID-19 cases diagnosed in the U.S. has exceeded 30.2 million all-time, and 548,828 patients diagnosed with the coronavirus have died.

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the outbreak of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 a pandemic.
