You’ve probably noticed that on some days you wake up effortlessly, while on others getting out of bed turns into a quest. And, probably, they did not understand why this happens if you sleep the standard 7-8 hours. Not to mention the fact that, like any person, you wake up in a good mood, or angry and aggressive. It’s not about the leg you stand with at all. Together with the co-founder of Grow Food service Daniel Halper, we decided to figure out why we feel exhausted in the morning.
One of the main factors affecting our well-being is food. We are what we eat, that’s a fact. Food gives us energy to live. To get the right energy, you need to eat well and get all the vitamins and minerals you need.
Let’s move on to practice. Here are the top 5 mistakes you definitely made.
№ 1 Instead of breakfast, drink a cup of coffee
Of course, we don’t always wake up feeling hungry. This is totally normal. You may have had a hearty dinner. Or maybe you are never hungry in the morning. Or you overslept and you don’t have time to eat. One way or another, having breakfast with a cup of coffee, from the very morning, you do not charge your body with energy for the day ahead. Yes, coffee invigorates someone, but the effect does not last long
№ 2 Make up a diet for the day, starting from the calculation of calories
This approach takes place only if you are aware of which foods are beneficial to the body and which are harmful. For example, for 1500 kcal per day, you can fully eat high-quality healthy meals 3 times and even leave a place for a snack or dessert. For example, for breakfast – porridge with couscous with pumpkin, for lunch – pasta with chicken, spinach and parmesan, for dinner – beef with walnut sauce and baked vegetables. Or you can eat a packet of chips and a burger and wash it down with cola. The difference is obvious: in the first case, the body is saturated with useful substances, in the second – fats and dyes.
№ 3 you torture yourself with proper nutrition
In addition to being healthy, food must be delicious! If you google PP recipes, the first thing you will see is a fresh chicken breast with boiled buckwheat, and as a snack you will be offered apples with kefir. Of course, the benefits of these products are undeniable. But how long can you hold out by forcing yourself to eat through the force of tasteless dishes? Food makes the body produce happiness hormones, which play an important role in well-being. Think how you will feel in the morning knowing that another bland breakfast awaits you.
№ 4 you eat before bed
We do not recommend sticking to the “do not eat after 18:00” rule, but there is some truth in it if you look at it. Experts advise not to eat for 3-4 hours before bedtime. This is due to the fact that at night the body will not be able to rest with a full stomach. If you eat at night, your digestive system will work all night to digest food. It would seem that what is stopping you from sleeping? That’s right, nothing will stop you. But in the morning you will feel tired, because the body is not rested.
№ 5 Elementary, but you don’t drink water!
You shouldn’t go into details about the benefits of water. Let’s just say that there are several rules for drinking water. First, the quantity. The average person needs to drink one and a half liters a day. If you want to calculate the exact amount, then we offer you the formula: 31 milliliters of water for each kilogram of weight for women and 35 milliliters for men.
Secondly, time. Drink water evenly throughout the day. If you are prone to swelling, then a little less in the evening than in the morning and afternoon. And the first glass must be drunk immediately after waking up – this way you wake up the body and start all the processes in it. Third, only water counts. Tea, coffee, juices, and other beverages are not included in the daily water intake, so do not replace the water with other fluids.
