New sanctions to be imposed in response to hacking attacks and election interference
Joe Biden’s administration is considering expelling Russian diplomats from the United States and imposing new sanctions in response to hacking attacks and election interference, which Washington accuses Moscow of doing.
It is reported by Bloomberg, citing unnamed sources.
The agency said the White House had completed its review of data on alleged hostile acts by Moscow and a hacking attack on government institutions using software developed by the American company Solar Winds.
According to one of the Agency’s interlocutors, the U.S. response is likely to include several elements, including sanctions against people close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as against government agencies associated with election interference.
