Ethics Committee opens investigation of Congressman Matt Gates

It is reported that the investigation is also being conducted by the US Department of Justice

The Ethics Committee of the US House of Representatives, which is controlled by the Democrats, announced that it had opened an investigation into Republican Congressman Matt Gates, who is suspected, among other things, of sexual misconduct and illegal drug use.

Committee leaders – a Democrat and a Republican – released a statement indicating that they were aware of the allegations against Gates and that Gates – a supporter of former U.S. President Donald Trump – may have violated congressional rules, laws or rules of conduct.

According to anonymous sources, the U.S. Justice Department is investigating Gates, who is suspected of breaking laws because he allegedly paid for a trip for a 17-year-old girl he was romantically involved with.

According to the Ethics Committee, Gates is also suspected of allegedly showing inappropriate photos and videos in the Capitol building, using campaign funds for personal gain, accepting bribes, etc.

The congressman has not been charged, and denies that he committed any wrongdoing. Gates’s office released a statement calling the suspicions “blatant lies.
