Democratic Rep. Jackie Speier is calling for Conservative pundit Ann Coulter to tell Donald Trump it’s okay to open up the U.S. Government.
The government shutdown is now on day 25 which makes it the longest shutdown in U.S. history. The majority of Americans are now blaming President Trump and Republicans for the shutdown.
“Dear @AnnCoulter — Please tell the President it’s OK to open up the government,” Speier tweeted.
As you may know, Donald Trump never intended to shutdown the government. After the Senate passed a clean resolution by a voice vote to continue government funding, conservatives like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter criticized Trump for not fulfilling his promise to build a wall on the southern border.

Shutdown affecting Coast Guard members
Today, Coast Guard Commander Admiral Karl Schultz told Coast Guard members they will not be paid because of the shutdown.
“Today you will not be receiving your regularly scheduled paycheck. To the best of my knowledge, this marks the first time in our Nation’s history that service members in a U.S. Armed Force have not been paid during a lapse in appropriations,” Schultz said in a letter.
