Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that he hopes President Trump will sign the bipartisan deal that will prevent another government shutdown.
“I have recommended that if it becomes what we think it is, I do recommend he sign it,” McConnell said.
The agreement reached would fund the government for the remainder of 2019 and provide $1.375 billion for 55
The President said earlier that he was not happy about this new deal and criticized it during a cabinet meeting.
“I’m not happy about it. It’s not doing the trick,” Trump told reporters. Also suggesting that he could move ahead and build the 2000 mile border wall without funding from Congress.
The government shuts down on Saturday unless this new deal is passed and Trump signs it.
Ann Coulter is already predicting that Trump will fold again because he’s “afraid to fight” for the wall, calling this his “Yellow New Deal” on Twitter.
