President to address a joint session of both houses of Congress
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday invited President Joe Biden to address a joint session of Congress on April 28.
“Almost 100 days ago, when you were sworn in, you enthusiastically expressed hope, promising that ‘help is on the way.’ Now, thanks to your historic and revolutionary leadership, help is here,” the speaker’s message to the president reads.
“I invite you to address a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, April 28, to share your perspective on the challenges and opportunities of this historic moment,” Nancy Pelosi added.
In February, Pelosi said she would invite Biden to speak after Congress passes a $1.9 trillion coronavirus pandemic economic relief bill. Biden signed the legislation into law on March 11.
