I didn’t agree with Rep Ilhan Omar’s earlier comments. She struck me as being unwilling to distinguish between the State of Israel and Netanyahu, which is akin to a person’s unwillingness to distinguish between America and Trump.

There is no room in a country founded on the principles of religious equality and freedom of speech for religious bigotry. Simply put, our Constitution guarantees these freedoms under the law.
The earliest American immigrants fled Europe seeking religious emancipation; their sons and daughters, the earliest American patriots, shed blood for the same. The Framers created the Constitution in order to establish a free republic and provide for the ongoing maintenance of democracy within our country.
We must not allow the diseases of intolerance and religious censorship to destroy the roots of our nation from within. It is unfathomable that under today’s administration and the rule of a corrupt party, we are witnessing the slow dissolution of the truths that we’ve always found to be intergal to the existence and values of our country.
