U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with Estonian Foreign Minister Eva-Maria Liimets, Latvian Foreign Minister Edgar Rinkevich and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis in Brussels on Wednesday, according to the State Department press service.
The heads of diplomacy of the four countries emphasized their unwavering commitment to security and democracy in Europe and around the world. They discussed the situation in Belarus and Russia, as well as the challenges of China, which require a permanent partnership to promote peace, prosperity and shared values. The secretary of state stressed the need for further adaptation as part of the NATO 2030 initiative. He thanked his colleagues for their commitment to revitalizing NATO and for their contributions to the alliance through significant defense spending and deployments overseas.
