Diplomatic heads of the two countries spoke by telephone

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke by phone Saturday with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab and expressed his deepest condolences for the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The State Department said in a statement.

The heads of diplomatic departments discussed the situation in Afghanistan and reiterated their support for Ukraine in the face of Russian provocations. The interlocutors “stressed the need for Moscow to immediately cease its military build-up and inflammatory rhetoric,” the State Department said in a statement.
