Spike Lee ends up head of the Cannes Film Festival

Spike Lee, the famous American director, is the head of the international jury of the 74th Cannes Film Festival. The news is contained in the official statement of the organizers of the film forum. By the way, Lee will be the first black cinematographer, who was awarded such a part.

Note that the director was supposed to chair last year’s festival, but because of the pandemic the event was canceled. The director is also expected to present his film “Five of One Blood” out of competition.
Pierre Lescure, President of the Festival de Cannes, said, “Lee supported us during the long period of uncertainty we had to endure. Now it is hard for us to imagine a stronger person to lead us to the light in difficult times.”

This year’s festival begins June 6 and will run for a week and a half.
