Marvel has approved the filming schedule for the adaptation of the “Captain Marvel 2” graphic novel. According to Western press reports, the filming of the second part is set to begin on May 31 this year, and filming will take place at Pinewood Studios in the UK. In addition, some scenes will be created in New Jersey and Los Angeles.
Nia DaCosta, who worked on a new version of the horror film Candyman, has been given the post of director. The second installment will be based on a script written by Megan McDonnell. Brie Larson has taken the lead role. “I’ve changed and grown a lot. Now I’m very excited to see what I can add to my character’s image in the second part of the film with the baggage I’ve gained,” the actress noted in a recent interview. The role of the negative character was given to Zave Ashton, who has also starred in “Guerilla” and “Under Cover of Night.”
As a reminder, the film “Captain Marvel” was presented to the public in the spring of 2019. The project managed to earn about $1.1 billion. Subsequently, the heroine appeared in other Marvel graphic novel adaptations.
