Drako Motors has unveiled a new video of its premium electric supercar, the GTE EV. This time it demonstrates the ability to drive on an icy lake, which is ensured by the design with a separate engine for each wheel.
According to Dino Drako, the Silicon Valley billionaire, he couldn’t find the perfect electric car. That’s why he and his companion Shiv Sikand decided to make a car they would both enjoy. The GTE EV is a racing hypercar with up to 1,200 horsepower and an incredible 8,800 Nm of torque. All this provides speeds of up to 330 km/h. A 90 kWh battery is responsible for autonomy, but there is no exact data on its efficiency yet.
The key feature of the GTE EV is the Darko DriveOS system, which provides each wheel with its own engine. Due to this, the car should become more controllable, using the change in torque. During the last test, the supercar drove over the frozen Lake Georgetown, located at an altitude of 2,590 meters above sea level. In the video, you can see how the car remains steerable thanks to the torque vectoring system, with the left and right wheels spinning in opposite directions.
The first deliveries of the GTE EV will start in 2021. It is planned to produce only 25 electric cars at a price of $1.25 million each.
