LG has promised to release Android updates for smartphones within three years, even after the closure of its mobile business. Representatives of the brand also named models that are guaranteed to receive fresh firmware in accordance with the previously planned roadmap.
LG assures that at least three new versions of the Android OS can count on users of smartphones presented in the G, V, Velvet and Wing series, which were not released before 2019. For example, the LG Velvet was introduced with Android 10 out of the box, and the latest update for it will be Android 13. The G8 ThinQ, G8x ThinQ, G8s ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V60 ThinQ, and Wing will also receive three corresponding updates since release.
In addition to the flagship line, at least two numbered firmware awaits devices LG Stylo and LG K series, representatives of which were released in 2020. According to a previously released statement, LG will close its mobile division at the end of July 2021.
